Identified critical errors with client's tender response

Was asked to perform a review of a project schedule for a client that was responding to a multi-million dollar tender for a Federal Government Department that was strong on project management.

  • Subject matter experts had created an outline of the project activities and had someone from their project management office create a schedule in Microsoft Project.
  • Despite having no knowledge of the technology, internal business processes, or client, the review of the plan against the tender documentation conducted by AmbitionZ identified a critical error with their planned approach to the project. The subject matter experts agreed the approach to the project needed to be modified based on the feedback provided.
  • Additionally, identified that the schedule that had been created in Microsoft Project by their project management office was inadequate in content and was incorrectly and insufficiently using Microsoft Project functionality. The project file would not stand up to the scrutiny that would be applied by the Federal Government Department.
  • Created a detailed Microsoft Project plan to meet a strict timeline including work breakdown, dependencies, resource allocations and levelling and which demonstrated the critical path.
